um... Well the big day gig has seen 4 or 5 huge fires recently. So much so that one starts to wonder if the gig title should be renamed "Fire Fighter." Anywho, enough of the complaining. Our little Hazel baby has been moving along. The one thing we can say about renovation and spec homes is that it is never fast enough. But all that aside (we did talk about not complaining, right?) here is the cool thing: we are actually moving forward! Check out the photos below. Additionally, we sold our duplex lot and might be putting our other Hazel lot up for sale. We sense a tectonic shift coming and want to be prepped and ready to go -no matter which party ends up in the White House. But enough about the lesser of two evils... Let's look at some hip-hopity, positive snaps instead -straight out of Cary and from the grandmaster of funk and soul; our realtor. (Thanks, JV.) Stay gold, Pony Boy.
No... Wait... What? Stay tuned. Yeah. That's it. Stay tuned.

Hey, no kidding, as far as weeks go, last week was rough -more rough than normal, and absolutely great, too.
In response to the bad week, we got some good news from the USTPO -US Trademark and Patent Office. Please see the photo above. This isn't the great news, though. (Although it was pretty cool... Especially after a year of waiting.) The great week came about on Saturday. We did our usual gig of forgetting the week day routine and, instead, put on the Saturday routine of grabbing coffee, going for a drive and looking at real estate. And we normally use that Saturday time to listen to podcast or books. One book that we have listened to more than once, and actually read back in the day, was on rotation. We were only half listening, and instead spent a lot of time circling the drain with a few problems that came up over the past week. We usually like to look at worse case scenarios and see if we can handle them for any given problem. If we can, great! If we cannot then we need to adjust course. This past week and the events that took place were no different. The only real difference was that instead of asking the questions and then coming up with the answers, we kept asking the questions over and over and over again. We were playing a movie in our mind of uncertainty and bad results. And then something clicked. In a heartbeat, and maybe it was because of the book that we were listening to, we decided in one millisecond to run towards what we want, instead of running from what we fear. That small distinction made all the difference in the world. Suddenly the clouds lifted and the world became a world of possibilities instead of limitations. We know… It sounds hokey. But trust us when we say it is true. We followed that up with our personal relationship and faith beliefs on Sunday, and suddenly the whole world is bright again. The shift was within us. As strange as this may sound, our hope is that someone out there will find utility and comfort in our sharing these events here. We hope so. Stay tuned. Late yesterday our Realtor dropped by our spec home last night & took this snap. Looks like gift wrapping to us.
This process has been slow and much longer than originally thought. It has also been over budget. However, news flash, almost all projects are over budget. Right now we are thankful that it is moving along. Stay tuned. We are back from our West Coast/Ring of Fire/Pacific NW tour. It was fun. In the meantime...
The fireplace and the windows are in at Hazel. And, we just cut the check for the siding and insulation. We are hoping that things will now fly forward to completion. Stay tuned. We have some new photos and updates which we will post over the weekend.
Now, as we make our way back to Dixie from Seattle, we wish you all a safe and pleasant 4th of July weekend! |
