We are building a database of trades in the Raleigh, Durham, & Chapel Hill area.
If if you are, or know of, great tradespeople in the Triangle area ---all trades from GCs to landscapers, ---please let us know. We've set up a separate Gmail account for recommendations. That email address is: boxbendcrew@gmail.com Thank you in advance to all that respond! Back home and waking up around midnight. AKA: Body Clock Confusion.
This weekend and Monday are supposedly full of rainstorms. So much for a "framing weekend." We also talked to our CM who stated that no lumber can be left on site due to theft issues. This will also slow down the process. This not what we meant when we said, "Make it rain." We are on our way back from a trip to France. While we have been gone framing has started on Hazel. Our Moncure land is being re-surveyed. And our new lot is being title searched before closing.
We we hope to have photos soon for the visually interested. Stay tuned. We have a small window over the next ten days to get some framing done on Hazel Street. Hopefully this will help us move past all the initial weather and site delays. However, it looks like the next seven or eight days will suck after tomorrow.
This is where patience meets frustration, on one hand. (We just watched an entire house get 60% framed over the weekend in a new neighborhood by us. We left and when we came back...voila! This is on top of watching a larger house directly behind our own home come out of the ground & get roughed in over three weeks.). On the other hand, we "get" the weather thing. One of our grandparents was a carpenter who married his bride on "the first available rain day." Autopsy to follow. Stay tuned. Good day, Good People!
This is is what rounding first looks like in the spec home/new build ballpark. It it is also what a six week delay looks like due to weather and a labor shortage. None-the-less, we are stoked because second is in sight at the site... So to speak. Other news, we finally signed the contract on the new lot. More details coming once that closing is in the bag and we have been safely waived into home plate. Sticking with this baseball metaphor (#GoDurhamBulls), we are also thinking about a playbook and a new opportunity for any spectators. More on that later, but for now, is there any interest in a What We're Reading update on the blog? If so, drop us a line at boxbend@outlook.com (re: Books) or leave a comment, please. We read too much, but some of it is worthy of note. Many thanks, and until next time, stay tuned. |
