Ok. You got us. We're ripping off John Oliver. But all the Englishmen commenting about Americans aside, here is a brief pictorial summary of last week. Hazel is still for sale. Main in received a dumpster. Ta-dahhhh!: We went on two early morning scouting missions to find our next score. ("C'mon Louie, baby. I need it real bad." 1980's movie drug reference from "Trading Places.") Here's a photo from one of the two early AM drives: Our new contractor smoothed things over with the city, started the permit process on Main, and had his demo crew on site. A demolition photo or two follows: We also spent some time considering the purpose of life, not to mention picking our noses due to the insufferable amount of green pollen floating through our local atmosphere. Multitasking?
Other than that... Stay tuned. .

Well, well, well, welcome back race fans! Today we sign a new contract on Main Avenue. Remember Main Avenue? If not, here is a visual reminder: This bad boy has been sitting idle as we wrestled with the Beastly Beatitudes of Balthazar B. Or Hazel, in our case. (The Beastly Beatitudes... is a book by J.P. DonLeavy for our literary friends... or Jeopardy contestants. "I'll take Obscure American Authors Who Lived in Ireland for $1,000, Alex.")
We have it mostly cleared out, but the city is tired of waiting. So while we get Hazel out there and hopefully SOLD, SOLD, SOLD!, we will juggle our finances in the hope that we see some notable progress on Main shortly. We've also put on our Doc Brown lab coat and have gone back in time to evaluate our original ARV on this bad boy -all while Marty dicks around in the garage with an oversized speaker cabinet. The neighborhood is starting to wake up and we think we are now looking at a roughly "Somewhere North of 400" After Repair Value. "Great Scott!" Until next time, please return your library books on time, don't juggle your books -only your finances, and keep the amplifier for your guitar 🎸 below 11. Oh, and stay tuned. We took a little breath this past week. Two things took place:
First, we had a new team member join the day gig, and getting her up to speed on all things day and all things gig has been all consuming. She and her family come from the day gig's sister office in Australia. Second, we had Combs Electric back at Hazel to correct a few issues that came up. This is A-Okay, as we expect a few bugs in a new building, and we also want to make sure that we put out a great product. After all, we are putting the old Double B imprint on this little plan book jewel. (A good name is worth more than temporary profits. Or, at least that is what we believe.) A third item -unrelated to our delays on Hazel -involved the death of our friend's father. Our deepest condolences to Judson V. of Century 21, and all of his family. Jud is a brother, and our hearts ache for him. Stay tuned. Hey Race Fans, Happy Friday. Our offering individual resurfaced with another offer this morning on Hazel Baby. We countered. Speaking of the Hazed... check out the new replacement window: Also, HVAC and other issues have been/or are being sorted. Combs Electric is going back in next week for a once over on all things Electric. We've been throwing a lot of cash towards this honey. But it has been worth it... This baby is just about ready for a new Sugar Daddy.
Its just like an old fashioned love song. Have a great weekend, folks. |
